Teacher Staff Appreciation Day

The month of May is usually a time to recognize the seniors and the graduating class, but last week the teachers and staff at Lancaster Baptist School had their own special day. Tuesday, May 4, was Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day, and the students and parents helped to make it unforgettable. Loaded with donuts, yogurt, muffins, and cupcakes, the office was overflowing with treats of all shapes and sizes. One highlight was the special luncheon prepared by five different families. With traditional Filipino dishes such as pancit and lumpia along with all-American cheesecake bites, the entire meal was a delight from start to finish. During the afternoon, a large and delicious fruit basket was delivered from Edible Arrangements, courtesy of the Hayes family.

However enjoyable the numerous treats were, the best part of the day was the visible outpouring of love and kindness from the families. Although arithmetic and spelling are important, sweet spirits and generosity are much more valuable.
