By Ashley Brunner—The Lord sent a unique opportunity to Lancaster Baptist Church. LBC teens spent a week going to public schools and inviting students to come to the Overtime Rally with NBA player Michael Redd. When Saturday morning came, the main auditorium was filled with teenagers from around the Antelope Valley. Excitement filled the auditorium as Michael Redd walked onto the stage. He spoke about his basketball career, but he also spoke of his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. One key statement that Michael said was,”I am not a basketball player who happens to be a Christian, I am a Christian who happens to be a basketball player.” After Michael Redd gave his testimony, Bro. Samms gave a simple but powerful salvation message. The alter was filled with teens and parents who came forward for salvation. At the end of the day, 150 people made a profession of salvation. We are very thankful for this unique opportunity that the Lord sent to us.
