Veteran's Day Parade

By Erica Linder The marching band of Lancaster Baptist School had the privilege of performing in the annual Veteran's Day Parade. Due to contruction in downtown Lancaster, the parade was held on the streets of Quartz Hill. Although they entered as the 244th group in the parade, the band played their best to encourage the veterans of the community. Deanne Cox, a cheerleader who walked in the parade, said, "It was an encouragement to me to smile and wave to the veterans and receive a smile back from them." The school was represented by the color guard, cheer squad, marching band, and, for the first time, our drill team. One member of the drill team stated that they practice two hours a day. The dedication and hard work of these groups is what has made our school such a great environment in which to learn. Thank you, Brother Hopkins, for your dedication and labor with this event; and thank you, Dr. Salazar, for continuing to raise the standard of our school with these extracurricular activities.
